This electric SUV comes with a new safety package fitted as standard, Subaru Safety Sense, which covers all-around safety in an even greater range of situations. This innovative pack of advanced driver assistance and collision avoidance technology, fitted as standard, includes Safe Exit Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, 360-degree panoramic monitors and Pre-Collision Braking to create a safer driving environment for you and other road users.
Constructed on the all-new e-Subaru Global Platform, the Subaru Solterra range offers a unique driving experience in a battery electric vehicle (EV). With a low centre of gravity due to the flat battery unit being placed directly beneath the vehicle, the design features of this platform work together to provide even more enjoyment and peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike. A newly developed high-capacity battery and innovative heat management system, with heat pump fitted as standard (to maximise driving range), have also been adopted to allow the vehicle to be used daily with a competitive cruising range.
Subaru Solterra takes this renowned all-weather, all-terrain technology to exciting new places. Permanent AWD comes as standard and gives you maximum confidence and control at all times by continuously shifting power to the wheels that have the most traction, ensuring excellent road-holding—whatever the weather or terrain. Couple that with the smooth linear output of the dual electric motors in Solterra and you have outstanding capability in all conditions—with instant torque.
Solterra also features an upgraded version of the X-MODE AWD system that provides added confidence on rough roads. You don’t need to be an off-road expert—simply press a button to easily navigate deep mud, snow or even steep, slippery slopes—all in a controlled, calm, worry-free way. With a low centre of gravity, Solterra has a minimum ground clearance of 210mm—so you can go places traditional electric vehicles typically can’t.
The Subaru Solterra has the capacity and room for any adventure. Due to the long wheelbase and flat floor, there’s ample passenger space and generous leg room in the rear. The innovative cockpit layout offers greater visibility and the panoramic sunroof provides a light and open cabin, making Solterra feel much larger than it is. This is a vehicle that’s both modern and full of convenient, comfortable features. And with up to 452 litres of cargo space, you can easily bring along all the gear you need for your adventures.
The electric SUV also features the most advanced infotainment system yet, featuring wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay® and wired Android Auto™ integration, so you can stay connected and in touch when out on the road. Touch, swipe or drag to easily navigate the large, intuitive 12.3" touchscreen, or simply use your voice. You can even charge your smartphone wirelessly in the centre console while you safely operate the hands-free connection and enjoy your favourite apps and content. The Touring model also comes with Harman Kardon® speakers designed to deliver unparalleled sound quality on every drive.
